Our Botox treatments will take no longer than 30 minutes. Many patients have reported that receiving a Botox injection feels like a small pinch. Our nurse practitioner (who will do the injection) has years of experience and will do their best to keep the injection pain free. If you are concerned about any potential pain or have an aversion to needles, ask our staff about topical numbing cream.
If you’re 25 and older, you can start with preventative Botox. More intensive treatments can start past your mid 30s. If you’re dealing with unwanted lines and wrinkles, now may be the right time to give it a chance.
After 20 to 48 hours, you will start to see results, with full results appearing 10 to 14 days after treatment. Results will vary on a patient by patient basis, however, results from Botox will last up to 4 months. It is important to speak with your physician to plan another appointment based on your wellness and aesthetic goals.

Repeated facial movements like frowning, squinting, smiling, or raising your eyebrows gradually lead to the formation of facial lines. Botox injections work by blocking signals from nerves that cause facial muscles to contract. When these muscles contract, it results in wrinkles becoming visible. By reducing muscle movement, Botox smooths existing fine lines and helps prevent new ones from forming.
Cosmetic Botox targets the underlying causes of frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines. Your nurse practitioner will inject problem areas with Botox, which will temporarily reduce muscle activity. It’s really just as simple as an injection into the specified area.

Dysport and Xeomin
- Dysport: This is an effective treatment for moderate to severe frown lines. Similar to Botox, Dysport uses the same highly refined version of a neurotoxin called Botulinum A. Dysport results typically appear within 2 to 3 days and results may last up to 5 months.
- Xeomin: This treatment is FDA-approved to deal with wrinkles caused by aging. Xeomin also works to improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines. Results from treatment with Xeomin are similar to Dysport and Botox.
Patient Instructions
Pre-Care:
- Schedule your Botox appointment at least 4 weeks prior to a special event.
- If you have a rash, cold sore, or blemish on the area of treatment, call us to reschedule at least 24 hours before your appointment.
- Please let your physician know if you have a history of cold sores.
- Avoid blood thinners prior to and after your treatment.
- Do not drink alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment.
- Protect your skin with SPF 30 sunscreen.
- Drink plenty of water.
Post-Care:
- No strenuous activity or exercise at least 24 hours after your Botox injection.
- Resist the urge to massage the injection site.
- After 6 hours, you may gently wash the injection site with soap and water.
Avoid lying down for at least 4 hours after treatment and try to sleep facing up for a couple of days after treatment. - Do not drink alcohol or use tobacco for 48 hours post injection.
- Do not take blood thinners for several days.
- Continue protecting your skin with at least SPF 30.
- No facial treatments for 10 days after receiving Botox.
- Sleep face up with your head elevated.
